Priory Ridge 2021 Pinot Noir Earning a coveted gold medal at the esteemed Tasmanian Wine Show, Priory Ridge 2021 Pinot Noir exudes the quintessential characteristics of a Burgundian masterpiece. Opening with a classic Burgundian nose, this wine entices with aromas of plum and dark fruits, interwoven with subtle hints of oak complexity. On the palate, luscious plum and dark fruit flavours take centre stage, elegantly balanced by velvety tannins and the nuanced influence of French Oak barrels. The wine delivers a captivating interplay of textures and structure, gracefully lingering on the palate with each sip. After maturing for 18 months in French Oak barrels, this Pinot Noir has been bottled with minimal fining, preserving its natural essence and integrity. Bream Creek Vineyard 2022 Estate Pinot Noir

Bream Creek Vineyard is one of the pioneers of the modern Tasmanian wine industry. Our 7.5ha vineyard at Marion Bay in the south-east of Tasmania was originally planted in 1974, making it one of the oldest commercial vineyards on the island. Fred Peacock purchased the vineyard in 1990 and expanded the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay plantings, as well as introducing Sauvignon Blanc. Fred also planted what was arguably the first commercial planting of the rare German grape variety Schönburger in the southern hemisphere. Since 1990 our premium cool climate wine has been rewarded with 61 trophies and more than 1,150 show medals. Tasting Note Vintage 2022 was late in starting, and we only picked our first grapes on 28 March. Yields were generally very modest due to the lower bunch and berry sizes, which was a common theme across most of the cooler wine grape production areas of Australia in 2022. However, the lower quantity has resulted in excellent quality across all wine styles. This premium cool climate Pinot Noir has an aromatic nose of dark cherry, spiced plum and a hint of cocoa. The lithe palate shows impressive intensity, black cherries joined spiced red cherries and subtle cooking spices. With excellent tannins and a long finish, this wine would suit a wide range of foods, such as wallaby fillets with mushroom XO sauce or washed rind cheeses.
