Clemens Hill Aurelia 2021 Pinot Noir $64

Clemens Hill vineyard nestles into the north-east facing slopes of the ancient glacial carving that is the Coal River Valley. It sits just 75m above sea level and is cooled by maritime valley breezes while capturing the bright crystalline sun. It enjoys both shelter and exposure. Rainfall is a capricious 500mm per annum, so it is supplemented with irrigation in times of stress. Our Aurelia Range wines are only made when vintage conditions are ideal - they are the cream of an exceptional crop. Gold Medal – Australian & New Zealand Boutique Wine Show 2022 This Pinot Noir is a true gem, with a beautiful bouquet of fragrant, perfumed red fruit notes. The abundance of charm and finesse is enhanced by the delicate oak notes, creating a harmonious balance of flavours. The tannins are finely woven, creating a smooth and elegant texture, while the fruit is plush and juicy, with just the right amount of acidity. It is a complex and layered wine, with a lovely package of aromas and flavours that will captivate your senses. A true gem

Bremley Vineyard 2021 Pinot Noir $50

Bremley Vineyard is the northern most vineyard in the Coal River Valley, in southern Tasmania. Originally planted with 2 hectares of Chardonnay in the early 2000’s, the current custodians, James and Vanessa Bresnehan, have added Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Gamay to the mix. Since purchasing the property in 2008, James and Vanessa have developed Vineyard area to its current 13Ha. Fruit had always been predominantly sold to other wine producers until the urge to create some iconic single vineyard wines presented itself. Having joined forces with famed winemakers Justin Bubb and Anna Pooley, the vision became reality. The site itself is unique, with the vineyard laying beneath Gunnings Surgarloaf in a natural amphitheatre protected from brutal summer north-westerly winds. Days during the growing season are long and warm, with the nights being cool due to the distance from moderating ocean influences. Site soils are mainly black cracking clays intermixed with dolerite. Bremley is operated with a hands on approach. Both James and Vanessa manage the day to day running of the vineyard, which is based around a sustainable outlook, now and into the future. Tasting notes: Dark cherry fruit combines with aromatic clove and flowering thyme on the nose. Well defined blackberry and cherries fill the front palate with opulence. Quality fine grained oak and seamless natural acidity play their role, drawing these flavors through the palate with an elegant line. The most delicate tannin structure finally frames the palate. Silky and supple, this is a very seductive Pinot Noir expression.
