Bream Creek Vineyard Reserve 2021 Pinot Noir $70

Tasting Note This is a powerful and complex wine, reflective of its Reserve status. Upon opening the nose is aromatic, with lifted dark cherry, plum and spice aromas. The rich palate features intense dark cherry and berry flavours, matched by fine tannins and bright acidity and finishing with superb length and intensity. Awards Trophy x 2 Best Pinot Noir- 2022 Wine Wise Small Vigneron Awards and 2022 Australian Cool Climate Wine Show Master Medal 2023 Global Pinot Noir Masters, London (one of only four medals of this type awarded) Gold Medal x 6 (2022 Wine Wise Small Vigneron Awards, 2022 Australian Cool Climate Wine Show, 2022 Berlin Wine Trophy, 2022 Asia Wine Trophy Competition, 2023 Asia Wine Awards and 2023 Aurora International Taste Challenge) Reviews Impressively deep red-purple colour, bright and clear, the bouquet big on dark-cherry to blackberry, bold fruit and not overtly whole-bunchy, while the palate is full and rich and succulent, loaded with lovely ripe cherry/berry fruit and superfine tannins in superb harmony. Long finish; truly satisfying. An outstanding pinot noir with a bright future. 97 points Huon Hooke (The Real Review) 23 May 2023 Rich dark cherry fruit features on a powerful nose, and carries through to a long, generous palate built around fine, persistent tannins. Although it satisfies now, this wine will age well. 5 stars 2022 Wine Wise Small Vigneron Awards Deep cherry colour, with complex aromas of blackberry and plum, with an almost velvety character to the nose. It had a hint of vanilla oak spice, perfectly integrated with the fruit elements and just a touch of sous bois. In the mouth it was deep and complex, with a bright acidity, elegant tannins, beautiful integration and long and complex finish. Siobhan Turner MW Top 32 Pinot Noirs of 2023 The Drinks Business (26 April 2023) ....gorgeous potpourri plus cherry vanilla baked pie aromatics, with red and dark berries, complex forest floor savouriness and a Chinese five spice lift with lovely length. Gorgeous, energetic and balanced, this wine exudes class. Selector Magazine (May/June 2023) Brooding black cherries and wild strawberries. The generous palate has an intense sweet fruit and vanilla character alongside a long savoury finish. Supple tannins, well structured, and hugely enjoyable. Spring Vale Melrose 2023 Pinot Noir $32

Vintage Conditions The persistent La Niña system prevailed throughout the early part of the growing season. Conditions improved throughout January and February contributing to consistent ripening. Yields were low, but the slow ripening produced fine tannins and a complex array of flavour profiles with great intensity. Vineyard A blend of the Spring Vale and Melrose vineyards with a broad clonal mix of D2V5, D5V12, D4V2, G5V15, 114, 115, 0014 and MV6. Soils are a combination old red loams of volcanic origin and grey alluvial loams. Picked in mid‐April 2023. Winemaking Notes Individual fruit parcels were picked in the coolness of early morning and transferred to small open fermenters for a 2‐3 day cold soak prior to fermentation. Ferments took between 7‐10 days to complete at relatively cool temperatures with gentle twice daily hand plunging to extract colour, flavour and tannins. After pressing the individual parcels were blended and transferred to old French oak barriques. Analysis pH 3.73 TA 5.8g/l Alcohol 13.3% Tasting Notes The Spring Vale Melrose Pinot Noir is made to highlight the unique terrior of Tasmania’s East Coast. Vibrant aromatics of luscious cherry, juby red forest fruits and enticing spices of clove and cinnamon. On the palate the bright and fresh red and black berry fruits are balanced with elegant tannins and fresh acidity to keep the finish rolling until the next glass is poured.
